Three Liverpool players could take a huge step towards an exit in less than 48 hours.
Last week, Liverpool were rocked by the sudden announcement that Jurgen Klopp will be leaving the club at the end of the 23/24 season.
During an emotional video, the German stated that he was running out of energy and could not do the job again and again and again. Less than a week after Klopp’s news, Liverpool could set to lose three first-team players.
As we are now in January, players whose contract ends in the summer can now negotiate with foreign clubs ahead of a free transfer.
For Liverpool, Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Adrian are now able to speak to clubs abroad as their respective contracts will end when the 23/24 season comes to a close.
Defender Matip is currently recovering from an ACL injury that he suffered during Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Fulham back in December.
Goalkeeper Adrian is likely to leave the club as he is now the club’s third-choice keeper behind Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher.
A decision will also have to be made regarding midfielder Thiago, who is yet to feature this season due to a long-term hip problem.
