LIVERPOOL TRANSFER NEWS: REDS TELL REAL MADRID THEY WANT TO SIGN £85M STAR

Liverpool remain keen on Aurelien Tchouameni and have communicated their interest to Real Madrid ahead of the transfer window.

That is according to a report from 90Min, who claim that Liverpool have informed Real that they would take Tchouameni off their hands. Liverpool would even be open to taking Tchouameni on loan if Real don’t fancy selling him this summer. Liverpool probably thought their hopes of signing Tchouameni any time soon were over last summer.

The Reds chased a deal for Tchouameni but the then-Monaco midfielder settled on a staggering £85million move to Real instead. However, Tchouameni hasn’t exactly impressed in his first season at Real. The 23-year-old has been in and out of Carlo Ancelotti’s side and played just six minutes against Manchester City on Tuesday night.

This situation has sparked debate on whether Tchouameni could move on already – and Liverpool seem ready to strike.

Jude Bellingham could actually help Liverpool land Aurelien Tchouameni

The biggest reason for question marks over Tchouameni is Jude Bellingham.

Real are closing in on a huge deal to sign Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Liverpool chased Bellingham for a long time but have taken the decision to back away from the race.

Real signing Bellingham means Tchouameni’s role is somewhat in doubt given the other midfield quality at Ancelotti’s disposal.

Federico Valverde has enjoyed a fine season whilst Luka Modric and Toni Kroos continue to shine.

Eduardo Camavinga has been playing as as left back this season but his future may still be in midfield. That means Tchouameni’s future is already unclear, giving Liverpool some hope of luring him to Anfield after all.

Missing out on Bellingham hurts Liverpool but his expected move to the Spanish capital could end up helping the Reds after all if Tchouameni wants to move.
