Liverpool's Alisson Becker is doubtful for the upcoming Bournemouth match due to a hamstring issue.
Liverpool's goalkeeper Alisson is uncertain to play in Saturday’s Premier League game against Bournemouth at Anfield.
The 31-year-old Brazilian international has not trained since the victory over AC Milan on Tuesday because of hamstring tightness. Caoimhin Kelleher is prepared to start his first top-tier game since April.
Liverpool's head coach Arne Slot commented, “We’re waiting to see if Ali can train today. If he can’t, then he probably won’t play. He has a slight muscle issue, and we're assessing whether tomorrow's game is too soon for him. It didn't occur during the Milan game; it was slightly before, but he felt it increasingly after the game. We have to wait and see if he’s ready to be in goal tomorrow or if we should wait a few more days.”
Slot also mentioned that the midweek victory at San Siro was the ideal morale booster for Liverpool following the previous weekend's loss to Nottingham Forest.
Slot added, “It wasn't just about bouncing back; it was also about our performance in Europe over the past two years. The club faced challenges in the Champions League two years ago, and last season's quarter-final against Atalanta in the Europa League was tough, so we had something to prove. Liverpool teams have set very high standards, and we aim to meet those standards again. The match against AC Milan was a positive step. Our play demonstrated that we can dominate football even away from Anfield. If every player improves by five percent against Bournemouth, we’ll have a good chance of winning.”
