This Friday, Liverpool is set to host Championship team Preston North End at the AXA Training Centre for Arne Slot's first informal match with the club.
Journalist David Lynch has reported that the game will be played without an audience, hence it will not be broadcast on television.
Preston, under the management of former Liverpool academy player and coach Ryan Lowe, has developed a strong rapport with the Reds in recent years.
Last season, Liverpool utilized Preston's Deepdale Stadium for a pre-season match against SV Darmstadt 98 due to renovations at Anfield and has loaned players like Sepp van den Berg and Calvin Ramsay to the Championship team in the past.
Lowe stated this week, "We have the chance to visit a Premier League training ground on Friday to match up against a top-tier Premier League team, which is an honor for us.
Today and tomorrow, we'll prepare at the training ground, and then on Thursday, we'll face off against a Premier League team. It will be challenging since we likely won't control the ball much. However, it's beneficial for our team when not in possession, and it will be advantageous for us in possession during certain matches. We're excited about it."
Following the friendly with Preston, Liverpool will have a little over a week before they play against Real Betis in Pittsburgh.
Their US pre-season tour includes matches against Arsenal in Philadelphia and Manchester United in South Carolina, culminating in a game against Sevilla at Anfield on August 11, where Slot will have the opportunity to meet the Anfield supporters for the first time.
Liverpool, with only four friendlies scheduled with fans in attendance, has seen Coach Slot arrange this match to begin instilling his philosophy into the team.
Although several of Slot's main players, such as Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, have not returned yet, Mo Salah is expected to participate.
He is likely to be joined by Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, Kostas Tsimikas, and Curtis Jones.
