Liverpool is reportedly nearing the completion of a seven-figure deal to sign a young prodigy from Wolves.

Liverpool is reportedly nearing the completion of their first summer signing, with Wolves' Alvin Ayman set to join the academy.

Last summer, the Reds secured deals for Trey Nyoni and Amara Nallo, both 16, from Leicester and West Ham, respectively.

Considerable fees were negotiated for the duo, who quickly progressed from the U18s to the first team's periphery, participating in matchdays under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool is now looking to replicate this success by signing the versatile 16-year-old Ayman from Wolves, as reported by The Secret Scout.

The club is apparently on the verge of finalizing a deal for the young player, who was part of Gary O’Neil’s senior squad for their 5-1 loss at Man City in May.

The potential compensation could reach £1.5 million if all objectives are achieved, a significant sum for a player without first-team experience.

Ayman, primarily a left-sided centre-back, has also demonstrated his midfield capabilities, notably scoring with his first touch in a 3-1 victory over Leicester U17s in January.

He has spent most of the season with Wolves U18s but debuted for the U21s in Premier League 2 in March, playing against both Derby and Everton.

Having joined Wolves in 2023 from Bradford City, where he signed a scholarship while still in their U14s, Ayman is likely to move again, with Liverpool aiming to provide a more stable environment for his development.

It is expected that Ayman will initially join Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18s squad, and he is believed to have already reached out to members of the club’s U16s group.

In a similar move last summer, Liverpool acquired another young defender from Wolves, Harvey Owen, then 14, who joined the U16s in an £800,000 deal.
