Liverpool have rejected a £6 million bid for Bobby Clark from Pep Lijnders' new team.

Liverpool has declined a £6 million offer for the young talent Bobby Clark from Salzburg, where former assistant manager Pep Lijnders now resides.

Clark had an impressive 2023/24 season, making 12 appearances for the senior team, scoring his inaugural senior goal, and securing a League Cup winners' medal.

Despite being sidelined from pre-season activities due to a back injury, the 19-year-old has been training with the under-21s this week while Arne Slot and his team are in the United States.

Interest in Clark's services for the forthcoming season remains high, and Paul Gorst of the Echo reports that Liverpool has turned down Salzburg's £6 million bid.

Lijnders is reportedly the main influence behind the Austrian club's pursuit, and Lewis Steele of the Mail notes their strong push for a deal.

Clark is also attracting attention from Norwich, Leeds, Sheffield United, Coventry City, as well as Celtic and Rangers.

Slot is keen to evaluate the young player up close before approving any transfer – a common theme this summer as the new head coach takes stock of his squad.

Gorst mentions that Liverpool is seeking bids over £12 million to consider a permanent transfer, while Clark is amenable to a loan to gain consistent first-team playtime.

Lijnders' admiration for Clark, previously with Newcastle, is well-known, having frequently mentioned him during his time at Anfield.

Lijnders, who assumed the head coach position at Salzburg this summer, celebrated a win in his first league match against Grazer AK on Friday night.

Vitor Matos, instrumental in Clark's progression from the academy to the senior team, serves as Lijnders' deputy at Salzburg.
