Liverpool have garnered early transfer interest, with a Championship club expressing a desire to sign a midfielder.

The season concluded just two days prior, yet Liverpool is already attracting interest for the upcoming summer transfer window, with Hull City seeking another loan arrangement.

Liverpool bidded farewell to Jurgen Klopp on Sunday and welcomed Arne Slot on Monday, as the players commenced their off-season break. However, the club's recruitment team is busy with plans for incoming and outgoing transfers, as well as new contracts for pivotal players.

This includes potential temporary moves for the club's emerging talents and peripheral squad members, such as midfielder James McConnell. The Hull Daily Mail, supporting previous reports, states that Hull is keen to secure McConnell on loan for the 2024/25 season.

This interest follows a fruitful partnership with the Championship team, marked by loan periods for Tyler Morton and Fabio Carvalho this term. Morton joined the Tigers last September and made 41 appearances, including 35 league starts, while Carvalho, who transferred from RB Leipzig to Hull in January, netted nine goals in 20 outings.

Despite manager Liam Rosenior's dismissal for not securing a playoff spot, Hull remains hopeful for another boost from Liverpool. McConnell was frequently included in Klopp's squad, making the matchday selection 31 times and playing in nine matches, with two starts.

He was one of the young players introduced during the final moments of the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, a match Liverpool ultimately won after extended play at Wembley.

Looking ahead to the pre-season, the potential return of both Morton and Carvalho to Slot's team, along with competition from players like Bobby Clark and Stefan Bajcetic, suggests a loan could be advantageous for McConnell. Nevertheless, any decision regarding his future may be deferred due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the plans for the new season.
