Liverpool has announced that goalkeeper Adrian will be leaving the club after his contract ends this summer.
Adrian, who was offered an extension, chose to seek a new opportunity after a five-year tenure at Anfield. The 37-year-old goalkeeper, with 26 appearances for Liverpool, is anticipated to return to his old team, Real Betis.
Known for his experience and camaraderie, Adrian was a well-liked member of the team, providing backup for Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher.
His most memorable moment with Liverpool was his crucial saves during the penalty shootout against Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul in 2019.
Following Adrian's departure, Liverpool plans to elevate the young goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros to Arne Slot's team. The 22-year-old Czech player, who is currently on vacation after participating in the Euros, had an impressive loan period at Sturm Graz in Austria last season, contributing to their league and cup double victory.
