Liverpool could be on the verge of securing one of the summer's most astute signings.
The Reds have reportedly received a significant boost as the summer transfer window approaches. With Arne Slot set to take over from the departing Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool is bracing for a busy period of transfers at Anfield.
Last year, the focus was on revamping the midfield, but now the attention has turned to strengthening the defense and attack. However, Liverpool may also snag a bargain in midfield.
Nice-Matin reports that Khephren Thuram, a player long associated with a move to Anfield, is now available for a mere €15m (£12.8m).
The 23-year-old midfielder, son of French World Cup and European Championship winner Lilian Thuram, has been capped by France and began his career at Monaco before moving to Nice in 2019, accumulating over 160 appearances.
Last summer, Liverpool's interest in Thuram was well-publicized, with Nice reportedly demanding €40m, highlighting the potential bargain in the upcoming window.
Thuram has recently contributed to his team's fifth-place finish in Ligue 1, securing a spot in next season's Europa League. However, a move to Anfield would offer him the chance to compete in the Champions League, an experience he has not had since his early days at Monaco.
