Liverpool has confirmed the release of eight academy graduates.
The departure list includes eight players who will become free agents this summer. Notably, academy graduates Adam Lewis, 24, Mateusz Musialowski, 20, and Melkamu Frauendorf, 20, who have had first-team appearances but found regular opportunities limited, will be seeking new clubs.
Departing with them are goalkeeper Luke Hewitson, 19, defenders Niall Osborne, 19, Francis Gyimah, 17, Nathan Giblin, 18, and midfielder Cody Pennington, 17.
In addition, the club has made contract extension offers to Adrian, as well as training goalkeepers Reece Trueman, 19, and Jacob Poytress, 20.
Liverpool's list of released players offers few surprises, yet the exits of Musialowski and Frauendorf are received with some disappointment. Both were regarded as some of the club's most promising talents upon their arrivals from SMS Lodz and Hoffenheim in 2020, and they demonstrated this potential throughout their tenure in the academy.
Musialowski made his first-team debut in March, coming off the bench during the 6-1 victory over Sparta Prague in the Europa League. Frauendorf, on the other hand, has made two senior-level appearances, including a start against Derby in the Carabao Cup, but his final season was marred by injuries.
