Liverpool reportedly have only a few hours left to activate Dani Olmo's release clause if they intend to proceed with his transfer.
Dani Olmo, the Spanish international, has recently updated on his future. RB Leipzig's manager, Marco Rose, has expressed his lack of concern over Liverpool, or any other club, triggering Olmo's release clause before the deadline this Saturday. Contrary to earlier reports that the buy-out clause, believed to be around £50m, expired on Monday, it appears these were incorrect.
Olmo has been the subject of interest from several clubs this summer, including Liverpool. However, Rose is not worried about the potential departure of his player, acknowledging that contingency plans are in place should Liverpool decide to act last minute.
"I'm extremely calm about it; there's nothing I can do to change it," he stated to Sky Germany, which reports that Olmo's release clause is slightly above £50m.
"We'll find out tomorrow, but I'll sleep well tonight. We have a strong team, and we will continue to have one. We've considered how we might compensate for any departures. And if nothing happens by the end of tomorrow, then as a coach, I'll be pleased."
Rose remains hopeful that their key players will stay because they appreciate what they have at Leipzig and have progressed well there. Olmo himself spoke about his future, indicating to Marca that he has multiple options this summer and suggested he has made his decision.
"The people handling my transfer know what I want," he said. "I'm not sure if I'll stay in Germany. I want to be where I'm appreciated and loved, and my goal is to win. We'll see what unfolds." These remarks follow his earlier confirmation of a contract clause, implying that clubs are aware of his situation.
