RB Salzburg have completed the transfer of midfielder Bobby Clark to from Liverpool for a fee of £10 million.
The deal includes a 17.5% sell-on clause and a matching-rights agreement, allowing Liverpool the option to re-sign Clark in the future.
Clark will join forces with ex-Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders, now at the helm of the Austrian club, which is poised for Champions League play after a 2-0 victory over Dynamo Kiev in their playoff's first leg.
The 19-year-old's departure follows Fabio Carvalho's move to Brentford for £27.5 million, marking another profitable exit for Liverpool this summer.
Clark, whose opportunities at Liverpool were scarce due to a crowded midfield roster, joined Liverpool from Newcastle in 2021 for £1.5 million. During his tenure, he made 14 appearances and netted a single goal in the 6-1 Europa League rout of Sparta Prague.
In 2024, amid a spate of injuries and international duties thinning Liverpool's midfield, Clark stepped up as a key substitute, contributing to the Carabao Cup final triumph over Chelsea and a 2-0 FA Cup win against Arsenal.
Despite the competition for midfield positions, Liverpool opted to sell Clark, son of the former player Lee Clark, known for his stints with Newcastle, Sunderland, and Fulham.
After nearly securing a loan to Derby last summer and attracting interest from lower-tier English clubs in January, Clark has now secured a permanent transfer away from Liverpool.
