Liverpool are not pursuing a transfer for Ederson but has scouted other positions.

Liverpool has dismissed claims that they have made a bid for Atalanta midfielder Ederson.

European reports on Thursday suggested that the Reds had secured a deal worth around £40 million for the Brazilian as their first summer signing.

However, This Is Anfield reports indicate that these claims are inaccurate, with no offer submitted to Atalanta.

Moreover, senior Liverpool sources have stated that Ederson is not a priority on their list of potential acquisitions.

The 24-year-old has gained attention this season, contributing significantly to Atalanta's Europa League success.

He featured in both matches as Atalanta eliminated favourites Liverpool in the quarter-finals and won the final against Bayer Leverkusen, marking Xabi Alonso's team's only loss of the season.

Ederson's performance this season earned him a spot in Brazil's squad for the Copa America, increasing his club's likelihood of receiving significant interest due to his enhanced reputation.

Nevertheless, Liverpool seems not to be pursuing him, focusing on other prospects instead.

Whether a midfielder will be targeted remains uncertain, especially given Arne Slot's ample midfield options.

Still, Liverpool is anticipated to strengthen their defence and has scouted several forwards.
