Liverpool is nearing the acquisition of young forward Rio Ngumoha, who seems poised to depart from Chelsea, as reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Premier League clubs have invested considerable time and resources globally to recruit top young talent. Acquiring them at a young age enables clubs to secure them for relatively modest fees compared to their potential future value.

Ngumoha is expected to leave Chelsea, with Liverpool close to securing his signature.

Italian journalist Romano reports that Liverpool is on the verge of signing the Chelsea prodigy Ngumoha, who is set to exit the Blues. Liverpool is reportedly willing to alter their academy wage structure to entice Ngumoha to join Anfield...

"Liverpool are on the brink of finalizing a deal to sign Rio Ngumoha (2008) as he departs from Chelsea Academy. #LFC is prepared to adjust the historical wage structure for their Academy to onboard Rio, who is highly esteemed by the club. The deal is anticipated to be concluded shortly."

The Secret Scout indicated in June that Chelsea was struggling to retain Ngumoha at Stamford Bridge this summer. The report hinted that several Premier League clubs were poised to bid as his contract neared its end. Various European clubs had also shown interest, but Liverpool seems to have emerged victorious in the pursuit.

At just 15 years of age, the English talent, who also holds Nigerian citizenship, has been a regular for Chelsea's U18 team. Journalist Bence Bocsak has suggested that Ngumoha's signing could be significant for the Reds, noting that the young star has previously trained with Chelsea's first team.
