New Liverpool coach John Heitinga has received commendation from West Ham star Mohammed Kudus, who has been rumored for a transfer to Anfield. Liverpool announced on Wednesday that Heitinga is joining Arne Slot's coaching team as an assistant.

Already acquainted with Merseyside, Heitinga spent over four years playing at Everton. The 40-year-old has now transitioned to coaching and will be part of Slot's staff for the next Premier League season.

Heitinga's coaching career in England began at West Ham, assisting David Moyes, where he worked with Kudus once again.

Their first collaboration was during the latter part of the 2022/23 season at Ajax, with Heitinga as head coach. After coaching Kudus at Ajax, Heitinga joined him at West Ham the following summer.

Kudus, who has been associated with a move to Liverpool and an £85 million valuation, has recently praised Heitinga, Liverpool's new assistant coach.

"I felt very good under Heitinga. He is the best coach I've had at Ajax," Kudus expressed to Voetbal Primeur.

"He holds high standards and values beyond just training. I wish I could have worked with him longer. He's a top coach, and I valued his commitment to improving us," Kudus added.

Kudus also noted Heitinga's immediate positive influence when they reunited, appreciating his efforts to enhance the players' abilities.
