Gini Wijnaldum has stated that the new Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, is on par with Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho on the training ground.

Despite his current play for Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq, Wijnaldum is set to join Euro 2024 with a strong Netherlands squad, which includes three Liverpool players. The former Reds midfielder believes that Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Ryan Gravenberch will have a great experience under Slot, whom he regards as an excellent successor for Liverpool.

Slot may be relatively unknown outside of Holland, but Liverpool's quest for a new manager led them to Feyenoord because of Slot's playing style and talent development skills. Wijnaldum, who transitioned from PSV to Newcastle United and became a Dutch champion, acknowledges that the Premier League's magnitude often overshadows achievements from other countries.

Last summer, at 32, he joined Al-Ettifaq to play under Gerrard in Saudi Arabia, participating in 31 matches and scoring seven goals. Wijnaldum's firsthand experience with Slot's training methods at Feyenoord convinced him of Slot's high-level capabilities, equating them with those of Klopp and Mourinho.

He admits that while Slot is entering a different world at Liverpool, it doesn't negate his ability to replicate his success from Feyenoord.
