Nottingham Forest charged for their behaviour towards Paul Tierney after Liverpool’s controversial victory but no action taken against Evangelos Marinakis.

Tierney’s mistake denied Forest a goalscoring opportunity before Liverpool sealed the win, leading to Marinakis confronting the referee

Nottingham Forest have been charged for their behaviour towards the referee Paul Tierney after Liverpool’s controversial winner at the weekend but no action has been taken against the club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, for his post-match confrontation of the referee.

Forest’s assistant coach, Steven Reid, has also been charged for using insulting and abusive language both before and after he was shown the red card during the protests after Liverpool’s 99th-minute winner at the City Ground on Sunday.

Marinakis went on to the pitch at the final whistle and followed Tierney down the tunnel, though it is understood that there is no mention of the Greek shipping magnate in the referee’s report.

Marinakis had to be removed by security after following Tierney down the tunnel and to the referee’s office.
