Dominik Szoboszlai has quelled concerns over a serious injury after experiencing a fitness scare while playing for Hungary.
Szoboszlai had to leave the pitch before the 60-minute mark after receiving treatment for a thigh issue during Hungary's 3-0 victory over Israel in their last warm-up match for Euro 2024 on Saturday night.
Although the 23-year-old exited the game with his thigh wrapped, Hungary's national team coach Marco Rossi suggested post-match that the injury was minor.
Szoboszlai himself later downplayed the risk of missing Hungary's first Euro 2024 match against Switzerland the following Saturday.
"I'll be fine!" he assured, in a conversation with Hungarian news outlet M4 Sport. "My legs felt somewhat stiff, which is why I chose not to continue. I wanted to avoid any risks.
"The game started off strongly, especially the first half, which was quite good. It was a fitting end to our preparation matches. The most crucial aspect is that everyone stays healthy," he added.
Szoboszlai had a strong start to the season with Liverpool after his £60 million transfer from RB Leipzig last summer but faced challenges later due to two hamstring injuries.
Following their match against Switzerland, Hungary will face host nation Germany and Andy Robertson's Scotland, aiming to advance past the group stage of the European Championships for only the second time in over half a century.
