Curtis Jones has rejoined full training in anticipation of Liverpool's Premier League game against Nottingham Forest at Anfield this Saturday. The 23-year-old midfielder had missed the two games before September's international break due to a minor muscle issue but has now completed his rehabilitation.
New acquisition Federico Chiesa also joined Arne Slot's team for training at Kirkby on Tuesday, looking forward to making his debut with Liverpool. Chiesa opted to build his fitness in Merseyside during the break, following a mutual decision with Italy's head coach Luciano Spalletti to forego joining the national team.
The 26-year-old Chiesa, who has not played since Italy's European Championship defeat to Switzerland in late June, was sidelined by Juventus' head coach Thiago Motta after returning for pre-season training in July.
Chiesa, acquired by Liverpool for an initial £10 million, trained with the club's Under-21s last week while the senior squad members not called up for international duty had a break.
Darwin Nunez of Uruguay, currently under a five-match international suspension, and Joe Gomez, not selected for England, were among those who returned on Monday.
Both participated in Tuesday's training session, along with several young players, including Rio Ngumoha, a recent addition from Chelsea's academy, whose transfer was approved by the Premier League last week. The England youth international may debut for Liverpool's Under-18s against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
Alisson, Luis Diaz, and Alexis Mac Allister, part of the South American group, will be the last to return from international duty. Slot is hopeful to have the entire squad available from Thursday as they gear up for the match against Forest.
