Brentford Agree €27.5m Deal for Fabio Carvalho

Fabio Carvalho is reportedly on the verge of transferring from Liverpool to Brentford this summer, as per A BOLA.

The young Portuguese international shone during his loan spell at Hull City in the latter part of the previous season, netting nine goals and providing two assists across 20 Championship games. His impressive performances have attracted attention from several Premier League clubs, with Southampton's £15 million offer for the forward being turned down. Jurgen Klopp has previously praised him as an "amazing talent."

Now, it seems a switch to West London is imminent, with Brentford finalizing a €20 million agreement for Carvalho. The 21-year-old is set to ink a contract that will see him stay at Brentford Community Stadium until 2029, joining Thomas Frank's squad in time for the pre-season.

The ex-Fulham player is poised to vie for a position alongside Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, and Kevin Schade, just behind the striker—potentially the newly acquired Igor Thiago or the much-speculated Ivan Toney.

Following A Bola's initial report, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the player has agreed to personal terms and is set to move to the G-Tech Community Stadium, with a medical scheduled in the upcoming days.

Carvalho has made a notable impression during the Reds' pre-season, finding the net against both Arsenal and Manchester United. Despite this, he remains lower in the pecking order at Anfield.

With players like Mohammed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott ahead of him, the Portuguese youth international is looking for more regular playing time, following a successful loan at Hull last season.

BBC reports suggested that Carvalho was keen on working with Russell Martin at Southampton. However, the opportunity to move to West London proved too enticing to reject.

Earlier in the summer, it was reported that the Reds were not considering another loan for Carvalho but were willing to sell him for a significant fee, which Brentford has now agreed to pay to secure his transfer.
