Arne Slot has reached out to Liverpool's international players currently still on holiday to clarify the expectations.

Arne Slot faces challenges with many senior players unavailable for most of the pre-season, yet he has ensured to connect with every member of the Reds.

Liverpool's new head coach has encountered a less than smooth start due to a summer filled with international tournaments. With nine Reds advancing to the semi-finals or finals of the Euros or Copa America, Slot has infused his squad with young talent for their US tour.

Diogo Jota has arrived in the US, with Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch set to join him, but the other eight will return to Merseyside in August. Despite the less than ideal circumstances, Slot disclosed in Thursday's press conference that he contacted all his international players post-tournaments.

"I reached out to them after their tournament exits to discuss their experiences and last season," he explained.

"We also talked about our expectations for them in the upcoming season, along with their vacation duration.

"Some I've spoken to more recently, while others are enjoying their holidays," he added.

This proactive approach is likely appreciated by the players, even as they focus on their summer break.

Nunez's role is defined:

Following his earlier statement this month, Slot has discussed with Darwin Nunez his anticipated role in the upcoming season.

"He's had issues with finishing, but he's consistently found himself in the right positions," Slot commented.

"I believe he'll integrate well, although at a club like this, competition for his position is expected.

"It's been made clear to him what his role will be.

"I've clarified it for him, and it's also clear to me," he concluded.
