Alexis Mac Allister has become the first Liverpool player to reach this year's Copa America final, ensuring that one of the club's internationals will claim the title.

Like the Euros, the Copa America is in its final stages, with the semi-finals underway in the United States.

On Tuesday night, Argentina faced Canada in the first semi-final, with Mac Allister starting as a left-sided number 8, a shift from his earlier deeper role in the tournament.

Facing the tournament's dark horse, Argentina knew the match would be tougher than anticipated.

However, they managed to take the lead at 23 minutes, thanks to Julian Alvarez, who scored following a superb pass from Rodrigo De Paul.

Lionel Messi then confirmed the win before the 60-minute mark, redirecting Enzo Fernandez's shot into the net, securing Argentina's 2-0 victory and a spot in the Copa America final.

Mac Allister was on the field for 78 minutes before Exequiel Palacios took his place. He had a quieter game than usual, completing 15 of 17 attempted passes (88%) and creating one opportunity, according to FotMob.

Media Reactions to Mac Allister's Performance

Ole rated him 7 out of 10, with journalist Hernan Claus commenting, "He was a discreet yet crucial part of the game's development."

ESPN's Luis Miguel Echegaray concurred with a 7 out of 10, noting Mac Allister had "few problems" in his game, playing a role "more involved in covering ground when Messi was unable."

Thomas Hindle from GOAL gave the Liverpool midfielder a 6 out of 10, stating he "wasn't on the ball much but made the right moves when he was."

Argentinian media TyC Sports also scored Mac Allister a 6 out of 10. Gaston Recondo observed, "He played as an inside forward to join the attack, but couldn't find space to surprise."

A Guaranteed Copa Winner from Liverpool

With Argentina's advance to the final, a Liverpool player is now certain to be a Copa America winner.
