Former Everton defender John Heitinga has disclosed that he and his agent are in discussions with Liverpool, as Arne Slot aims to finalize his backroom team.
Liverpool is poised for significant changes this summer following Jurgen Klopp's departure at the season's end, with Feyenoord's head coach Slot stepping in as his successor.
Other shifts at Liverpool include Michael Edwards resuming his role as FSG’s CEO of football, and Richard Hughes joining as the new sporting director from Bournemouth.
Slot is now set to round out his backroom staff after initially bringing on Sipke Hulshoff, Ruben Peeters, and Fabian Otte.
Regarding the new appointments, Slot remarked, "Naturally, you bring some people along because they understand your identity, your style of play, and can convey this to the rest of the staff. However, joining a club like Liverpool, you realize there are also many capable individuals already present.
"We hope to merge the best of both worlds, integrating some of our methods while utilizing the existing knowledge within the club from the nine years Jürgen [Klopp] and his team have been here."
